“We invite you to our Sacrum and Profanum concert: sacred and secular music. In the first half, we will play medieval songs dedicated to the Virgin Mary, including Cantigas de Santa Maria, then we will move on to the Profanum part, with vocal music and guitar and theorbo solos from the Baroque era. Composers include Monteverdi, Lawes, de Visee. You will have a rare opportunity to compare two voices with a similar range, but very different in timbre, a female mezzo-soprano and a male countertenor, accompanied by four instruments (but only one at the time!): lute, Renaissance guitar, Baroque guitar and theorbo, and in addition Daniel Cabena will play vielle and tenor recorder” – Magdalena Tomsinska
