Inspired by Joe’s JUNO Award winning Africville Suite. From champion boxer George Dixon, to renowned contralto Portia White, Africville Stories presents uplifting tales of this unique Canadian community that was ended in the 1960’s urban renewal. Composer and pianist Joe Sealy is joined by Canada’s queen of jazz and blues Jackie Richardson, Paul Novotny bass, Alison Young saxophone, and drummer Daniel Barnes.
