Homecoming – Mada Theatre What is a home and what does it mean to belong? A landlord and tenant have a conversation that spans time and space.
Before I Die – Mada Theatre There’s no money, fame or even a red carpet on the theatre stage. Nada Humsi enters stage right carrying half a century’s worth of theatrical work and experience. She’s still got it.
UNCIVILIZED – 7Spices Theatre Ù…Ø³Ø±Ø 7 بهارات A story about identity, and what it means to be a Syrian-Canadian citizen. And refusing to politicize human rights. It’s about the journey of leaving home to become a refugee and then a citizen. What is identity… a piece of paper? We’ll see.
Anchors – Abhimanyu Acharya Set against the backdrop of the early 1900s, Anchors tells the story of a ship full of South Asian immigrants turned away from Canada. Loosely based on the 1914 Komogata Maru incident.
