Mafa Dance Village and Tiger Princess Dance Projects

ft. Sam Nabi and Bboy NLiteN of KW Breakers

Presented by Dance @ The Registry, in partnership with the IBPOC Artists Touring Network: From Words to Action

February 2 @ 7:30 pm 9:00 pm

Mafa Dance Village operates within a diasporic framework, rooted in South African cultural heritage and grounded in the artistic ecology of Toronto. The work draws from African spiritual traditions and contemporary dance practices, resonating with African, Afro-Caribbean, and Indigenous communities through themes of healing, ancestry, and embodied knowledge.

All that is between is a contemporary dance work that explores how we exist together — and apart. Through powerful, wordless storytelling, six performers reveal the subtle ways bodies hold memory, connection, longing, and isolation. Created by choreographer Yvonne Ng (tiger princess dance projects), the work invites audiences into an intimate, poetic world where movement becomes its own language.

Featuring performers Morgyn Aronyk-Schell, Johanna Bergfelt, Amelia Brown, Charlotte Cain, and Sierra Chin Sawdy

Original music by Nick Storring • Lighting design by Arun Srinivasan

Ideal for audiences who enjoy contemporary dance, thoughtful performance, and visually poetic storytelling.
