Written in collaboration with Nobel Prize winner Yasunari Kawabata, director Teinosuke Kinugasa’s 1926 avant garde tale of a family is set in a mental health facility. Although not the complete original, it was rediscovered by Kinugasa in his own storehouse in 1971.
