SUMMARY:Mafa Dance Village and Tiger Princess Dance Projects
DESCRIPTION:ft. Sam Nabi and Bboy NLiteN of KW Breakers\n\n\n\nPresented by Dance @ The Registry\, in partnership with the IBPOC Artists Touring Network: From Words to Action \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMafa Dance Village operates within a diasporic framework\, rooted in South African cultural heritage and grounded in the artistic ecology of Toronto. The work draws from African spiritual traditions and contemporary dance practices\, resonating with African\, Afro-Caribbean\, and Indigenous communities through themes of healing\, ancestry\, and embodied knowledge. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll that is between is a contemporary dance work that explores how we exist together — and apart. Through powerful\, wordless storytelling\, six performers reveal the subtle ways bodies hold memory\, connection\, longing\, and isolation. Created by choreographer Yvonne Ng (tiger princess dance projects)\, the work invites audiences into an intimate\, poetic world where movement becomes its own language. \n\n\n\nFeaturing performers Morgyn Aronyk-Schell\, Johanna Bergfelt\, Amelia Brown\, Charlotte Cain\, and Sierra Chin Sawdy \n\n\n\nOriginal music by Nick Storring • Lighting design by Arun Srinivasan \n\n\n\nIdeal for audiences who enjoy contemporary dance\, thoughtful performance\, and visually poetic storytelling. \n\n\n\nAbout the ArtistYvonne Ng | 黄碧琬 (B.F.A.\, M.A.) is a Singapore-born\, Peranakan Chinese choreographer and the founder and artistic director of princess productions\, home to tiger princess dance projects and the biennial dance: made in canada / fait au canada Festival. Trailer Photo by Marlowe Porter. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSam Nabi is a hip-hop MC who leans into poetic curiosity\, vulnerability\, improvisation and risk. Whether probing universal questions or the inner workings of his own mind\, Sam seeks to reflect deeply while making space to move your body. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBboy NLiteN is a breaker from KW. He has been breaking for several years. He is the co-founder of the crew “KW Breakers”\, “KWB” for short. JR. celebrates one undeniable truth: “nothing’s as amazing as a musical!” \n\n\n\nIn the 1590s\, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing\, dancing and acting at the same time\, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night\, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self\, and all that jazz. Something Rotten! JR. features large song and dance numbers\, and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters\, each with their own moment to shine. \n\n\n\nShow Dates:December 17-20\, 7pmDecember 20\, 1:30pm \n\n\n\nTickets: $25 Regular\, $15 Senior & Youth\, $5 Children \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor event information\, please contact:

SUMMARY:JACK WISE
DESCRIPTION:MAGIC & SHENANIGANS PRESENTS: JACK WISE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorld famous Irish magician Jack Wise will make his Kitchener debut for one night only! Hosted by KW’s own Silly Phil from the Silly People\, this show will be one talked about for years to come! \n\n\n\nDublin Magician Jack took this quote literally choosing not to attend almost all school exams. Instead he turned his attention to a more exciting curriculum which included: \n\n\n\n\nLearning to shuffle a pack of cards and keeping them in exactly the same order\n\n\n\nTeaching himself the skills of suggestion and psychological manipulation making him appear to be a mindreader!\n\n\n\nLearning to slow his heart to fewer than 10 beats a minute which is of no practical use but really freaks people out.\n\n\n\nMastering the art of Sword Swallowing\, Jack is one of only sixty swordswallowers in the world today. He is proud to be a member of The Sword Swallowers International Association.\n\n\n\n\nA lot of people have asked Jack as a Magican how he does these things\, more people ask why? His reply is always the same … “Because I can” \n\n\n\nTickets: $25 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor event information\, please contact:
