The Faces Behind The Registry Theatre Lawrence McNaught, Director of Programming and Development Lawrence McNaught was born in Glasgow, Scotland and raised there and in Liverpool, England before his family emigrated to Canada. He attended the University of Waterloo but left to become one of the founders and the first program director of CKWR FM, Canada’s first community owned and operated, public access radio station. His interest in encouraging citizen participation and community development continued as a staff producer with Rogers Community Television where he pioneered many local television initiatives in the arts, music, politics, peace and social justice. Lawrence next joined VISION TV where he produced and directed short documentaries and also wrote and presented a weekly segment on spirituality and religious events across Canada. In addition, he wrote and produced Mediafile, a weekly magazine of media analysis and informed commentary. Lawrence is still active as an independent filmmaker and is currently working on a documentary about writer and Canadian cookbook icon, Edna Staebler. For inquiries about performing in The Registry Theatre’s concert series, co-producing a show, or sponsoring an aspect of the theatre’s programming, please contact Lawrence: Robert Clarke, Theatre Manager For inquiries regarding renting the theatre, show information, technical information, and any general inquiries, please contact Robert: Our Volunteers The Registry Theatre is home to many volunteers who donate their time to usher shows, work as members of our technical crew, help out with administrative tasks, and even coordinate the volunteer program itself.
